Have you ever heard of the phrase “sick and tired of being sick and tired?” Yeah. That was me several years ago. I hurt all over, was exhausted all the time, and couldn’t shower without sitting down mid-shower to rest. The brain fog was pretty bad too. I was literally sick and tired of being sick and tired, and I felt stuck in my situation. To say that I was frustrated was an understatement. Frustrated with my health (or lack thereof), frustrated and stressed in my job, and just way too much on my plate at home. What had happened to my vibrant life?!
And then it happened. A FedEx truck pulls up at my house one dreary October day and drops off a big box of Young Living products. THOSE oils. See, as a nurse, I had scoffed at my closest friends for over a year about using essential oils. “Snake oil” said me. ALL of my friends were using them, and I have to admit, they were pretty stinking happy with them. Well, that was my defining moment. Right there in my kitchen with a 3-year-old in my lap. Something in that moment happened to me. After a good ugly cry, the shell over my heart broke open and I made a choice to allow these products – this extravagant gift from a precious friend – to become a part of our everyday lives. And our lives were changed forever.
I learned how to use these oils, learned about actual nutrition and how the frankenfoods we think are actual food (but they’re not) are slowly killing us and definitely making us sick. I learned how my house was full of harsh chemicals that I didn’t even realize were robbing my health and the health of that precious 3 year old on my lap. I started implementing changes – swapping out harsh chemicals for plant-based Young Living products, eating actual nutritious food my body was starved for, and using oils. Lots of oils. Every day.
In four months I was a new person. Literally. It was miraculous. Now, this is my story and I can’t say that you will have my results, but I have helped so many people get started on their own miraculous story. I sent frustration packing a few years ago and I haven’t looked back. Now I teach and train full-time and I love it. “It’s so fulfilling” sounds so trite, but helping people learn to live above the wellness line has been my antidote to the toxic soup I was living in before.
